Daily Bible prayer reading: powerful prayers (example 1)

Bible prayer reading:

Bible prayer reading is the prayer using Bible verses to proclaim the promises of God, to praise God; and, to stand in the gap and pray on behalf of others.

Mental preparation before we begin our Bible prayer reading

1. Deeply believe that God is doing all His wonderful works in us, therefore we will continue to do things that please God.

6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1: 6)

2. Focus our mind on the word of God, so that the light of this word will enter into our conscious and our mind.

20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
   turn your ear to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
   keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
   and health to one’s whole body. (Proverb 4: 20-22)

3. Verbally proclaim the word of God so that our ears hear what we had proclaimed and prayed.

Meditate the word of God and proclaim the word of God so that the authority of God is with us through his word.

God or the Lord referring to the God of trinity: the Father, the Son (Lord Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. When we pray we are referring to this God of trinity.

Steps in Bible prayer reading:
1. Find a quite time, calm your heart and be ready. Best time for prayer reading will be morning.
2. Prayer for the blood of Lord Jesus to cleanse and cover us before we begin, ask the Holy Spirit to lead us in this prayer session. Begin by giving praise and thanks to the Lord.
3. Select a short Bible verses, read the verses for at least 3-5 times. (If these verses are from long passage, also read about 3 verses that are before and after the verses you have selected. This is to understand the context of these verses better. Then focus on the verses that you'd selected.)
4. if it is possible, replace your name in the noun that is relevant to your prayer. Do this for a few times and memorize this Bible verse with your name in it.
5. Continue to extend your prayers from the meaning of this verse, with affirmation of God’s love for us, or continue to proclaim the promises of God.
6. When you are now filled with the strength of the Lord, you can then use the same verses and pray for your pastors/church/nation/leaders. Use the same steps, add in their names in the relevant noun(s) in the verse, and pray.
You may continue to pray for your family/friends/loved ones, using the same Bible verses.

Bible prayer reading: Example 1

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
 3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
   for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
   through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
   for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
   they comfort me. (Psalm 12: 1-4)

1. Read and contemplate on the verse 1 and 2
2. Add in your name into the verse

The Lord is me  YYYY ‘s shepherd, I,  YYYY lack nothing
He makes me  YYYY lie down in green pastures
He leads me  YYYY beside quite waters. (repeat and memorize these verses)

3. Then further extend your prayers from these verses:

Thank you Lord for your are my shepherd, therefore I will have no lacking, I proclaim I will have grass and water to ease my hunger and thirst, cause you will lead me to still waters.

You are my God, and I belong to you, nothing can separate your love from me. I am affirmed that you are my shepherd and I am your sheep, therefore I lack nothing. You are my good shepherd, therefore I will not lack of good health, I will not lack of needs for necessity, I will not lack of your divine wisdom, I will not lack of talent and capability to handle my work, I will not lack of peace, I will not lack of joy, I will not lack of grace and bliss, cause you are my God. I will not lack of holiness, I will not lack of assistance when I need support, I will not lack of wealth cause you are my good shepherd and you are my provider. So I want to thank you and give praise to you for you are good.

4. Now start from verse 1-3, read a few times and then add in your name into the verses.

The LORD is me YYYY’s shepherd, I,  YYYY  lack nothing.
 2 He makes me YYYY lie down in green pastures,
he leads me YYYY beside quiet waters,
 3 he refreshes me YYYYY’s soul.
He guides me YYYYY along the right paths
   for his name’s sake.

5. Extend your prayers for verse 3

Thank you Lord for you lead me to walk through all ups and downs in my life. You will open doors for me as you lead me, hence I have hope in my life. Thank you, Lord, because of you my heart and my life is transformed, that I have the heavenly mentality. Because you lead me, therefore I am able to forgive, to love, to accept, to let go. I proclaim kindness in my life, that I can give to others, I can bless others, I can bring blessings to others, because you lead me with your righteousness. Thank you Lord, in Jesus’ name I pray.

6. Repeat from verse 1-4

The LORD is me YYYY’s  shepherd, I, YYYY lack nothing.
 2 He makes me YYYY lie down in green pastures,
he leads me YYYY beside quiet waters,
 3 he refreshes me YYYY’s soul.
He guides me  YYYY along the right paths
   for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I, YYYY walk
   through the darkest valley,[a]
I, YYYY will fear no evil,
   for you are with me YYYY;
your rod and your staff,
   they comfort YYYY.

7. Extend your prayer for verse 4

Lord you are with me even when I walk through the valley of death. I have no fear because you are with me. You had raised from death and gained victory, therefore I am able to gain victory over dark force. I proclaim victory over dark forces that they can’t steal and destroy my life. Dark forces have no authority in my life. I proclaim light in my life because you are with me. I proclaim victory in my spiritual life, victory in all trials and temptations. Even I might be surrounded by danger but you will open doors for me, you will rescue me. I want to thank you for your goodness and faithfulness, for you are such a good God. In Jesus’ name I pray.

8, Now you can pray for your pastors/church/leaders/family/friends using the same verses, same procedures.
